Red Rocks Community Hub and Spa
Concept
This community space is to act as a place where the people of Denver cause be active within themselves and others. This is a space where one can be to themselves or they can be social with others. The use of extroverted and introverted spaces helps to work with those two different sides of people. Levels of intimacy allow one to feel closed off from others or open into space to other individuals. This space was also inspired by the Denver surroundings. Rock formations are very common and they inspired the color scheme as well as the layers of spaces. The rocks have layers that have built over time symbolizing how this space will grow over time with the individuals that come to it.

The Space

Public Space
The public space is meant to accommodate many different types of people. From individual spaces to group meeting spaces this is a place where people can come together for a variety of reasons. Someone can come in and be quiet and to themselves but also join into the more lively spaces of the building. All personalities can find a comforting space here.
Cafe View
The cafe space is where people can come together in the lively area. The space is covered but still feels open. There are options to sit with a group or to sit alone at the bar seating. The bar seating allows for a quick in and out while there is also an option to sit and converse. The cafe will also have vegan, vegetarian and gluten free options for those that need it.

Booth Seating
The booth seating allows for conversation while feeling like you’re being protected. There’s different levels of privacy and intimacy that play into this space. You can be seen by others but you can also chose to sit alone and be close off from others. The space also allows for you to weave through the space like you’re in the city or by the river.
Lower Lounge
The lower lounge is a space that is more intimate than the main public space. This is where people can come when they want to get away from the action and have a cup of coffee. This area also offers alcoholic beverages in the evenings. This quieter area acts as a bridge between the main public space and the spa above. It can be a good social area but also more subdued.

Pool Area
The pool area is designed to bring people together in a relaxed but fun way. This is a place where people can come together and swim if the weather isn’t good or if they just need a reason to relax. Guests will check in at the reception by the staircase and then will be able to enter the pool. The changing rooms are located inside along with lockers where guests can store their items.
Relaxation Lounge
The spa floor also has a private lounge for those checking into the spa. This area has a group seating area along with individual pod spaces. There are also meditation rooms located on the back wall. This is a space where users can relax by themselves and have a snack or drink or enjoy a book. The spa lounge will be the quietest space in the building.
